“Aspire Liverpool” – Residential at Oxford University

“Maximise your potential – Aspire Aspire Aspire”! Two of our aspiring outstanding Year 12 students were selected for a 4-day residential at St Peter’s College Oxford University. Aspire Liverpool seeks to increase applications from students who have the capacity to secure a place at the best universities in the country. Our students were able to experience life as an undergraduate, listening to talks by Masters of St Peter’s College, enjoying meals in the traditional refectory, staying in student accommodation, and participating in hands on workshops to help students to experience life at Oxford. The trip was a remarkable experience, providing perspectives into Oxford University, the University/College system as a whole, and what it’s like to take study there. Paul Stirling, Headteacher said, “To experience it all first-hand rather than from videos or online seminars was a unique opportunity for our students. Well done to Megan and Michael in Year 12”. So, what is Aspire? Our two Aspire programmes are for young people attending Liverpool schools, designed to help them to maximise their potential and make successful applications to top universities. Working with our partner schools, we identify able and talented pupils from Liverpool to benefit from our programmes of encouragement, support, and intellectual preparation to make successful applications to Oxford and Cambridge and other top universities – in this country and abroad.
