Zoe’s Place
Monday 20 January 2025
Fourteen students from Archbishop Beck Catholic College visited Zoe’s Place to donate a cheque for £1,050. The college is extremely proud to be able to donate such a substantial amount of money that will go towards the building of the new hospice in West Derby Village.
The collection was started by Harrison Demellweek who encouraged students to donate to such a worthy cause. Mr Gillon in the PE department and Harrison organised a college bikeathon where staff and students had an opportunity to use the spinning bike for part of the day in teams, Harrison had several of his trusted friends making the day run smoothly; this was followed by our first Carols by Candlelight event organised by the Performing Arts Department, the student Chaplaincy Team and Mrs Ronan.
Both events gave staff and students an opportunity to get involved in a meaningful cause and with the help of our local community and parishes we reached such a generous total. The college staff and students should be truly delighted with the difference that they are making to the lives of those who are using the vital hospice services.
