Senior Citizen’s Christmas Party
Archbishop Beck held its annual Senior Citizens Christmas Party. ‘Fantastic’, ‘superb’, ‘brilliant’ were just some of the words used by those who attended to describe the afternoon. We started by showing White Christmas to get everyone in the mood for festive fun. As more guests arrived the college string quartet played famous carols to bring festive cheer to all present. This was followed by an outstanding performance by the Jazz ensemble who played their repertoire of festive ditties. The stage was set for a fun filled afternoon. The entertainment continued with Sixth Formers singing a couple of songs and then Connor, from Year 7, gave a wonderful singing performance.
Time for refreshments tea and coffee greeted the guests and the buffet soon followed, after which, the School Scholarship Dances performed four fabulous routines.
All the entertainment was excellent and the senior citizens really appreciated all the student’s talents and effort. Following the buffet was the highlight of the afternoon – the Bingo. Mr Shanks, employed his immense talents by telling his wonderful jokes and chatting away with the audience. Everyone had such a great time and many have already booked their places on next year’s party.
Those who attended would like to thank everyone involved with the party for the wonderful afternoon. Particular thanks to our chaplain, Peter, who organised such a lovely occasion.
