Awards Evening is a Resounding Success

The Archbishop Beck Catholic College Awards evening was held at the Conference area in Aintree Race Course.

Celebration, laughter, tears and joy – the 2009 Awards Evening proved a resounding success. A great variety of people and organisations were present to see the College recognise and applauded its outstanding Academic, Sporting and Cultural achievements.

Perhaps one the most emotional moments was when Headteacher Paul Dickinson paid tribute to two recently deceased members of the College community, Andy Traynor and Jonathan McGrath.

The audience listened to the heartfelt tribute paid to these members of the College community.

The warm atmosphere of the awards ceremony was aided by outstanding performances from the College Concert Band, Drama Department and College Dance Ensemble.

A highlight of the evening was the address given by the Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Mike Story, who spoke in glowing terms of the achievements of the College and its community and urged all to have the confidence to go out and build further on these successes. Throughout the night the Lord Mayor spoke of his pride in being associated with the College’s Awards, while presenting the many winners with trophies and certificates.
