Year 8 Maths Masterclass session

51 of our Year 8 Maths students spent the morning at the University of Liverpool on Wednesday 12th June 2018, engaging in challenging Maths activities. Students worked in teams to solve maths problems to trade in for money (monopoly money of course!).

The students quickly realised that the more they worked together as a team, the better the outcome! All students were extremely competitive and showcased not just their Maths skills but negotiation skills as well, as they had to negotiate with the banker and other teams when swapping resources.

Mrs Welsh accompanying the students, spoke of the high level skills that students displayed whilst completing the task and the way in which students were determined to succeed and win!
