Thursday 3 July 2025

On Thursday 3rd July, four year 8 students took part in a Liverpool Schools Parliament event based at Croxteth Hall. Students were involved in setting the agenda for next years parliament and had the opportunity to express their opinions about the provision for young people in Liverpool. The students said:

“When we got to the beautiful historical Croxteth Hall building I found it quite extraordinary. The one thing that truly stood out for me was the honour of meeting the Lord mayor of Liverpool. I felt so privileged to meet someone of such high office.”

“Today I learnt more about racism, how it affects some young people in the City and ways we can collectively battle and eradicate racism.”

“Having a schools parliament is so important because children should have a vote in how their schools and city are run so that the system feels equal and fair.”

“Its important to get the opinion of young people on issues that affect their age group rather than just basing decisions on what adults think.”
