Tuesday 1 July 2025
“Public speaking isn’t a soft skill; it’s a power skill.” Peter George
Our students were delighted to win FIRST and SECOND prize in the Archdiocese of Liverpool Public Speaking Competition held on Tuesday 1st July 2025.
The college was represented by Ellis, Year 9 and Ave, Year 8. The students presented two very powerful speeches, captivating the essence, spirit and theme of their topics.
Both Ellis and Ava presented incredibly well and were outstanding ambassadors for the college. Ellis won first prize with the theme ‘The United Nations is a Failed Experiment’ and Ava presented the argument ‘The Rich get Richer and the Poor get Poorer’. All the participants were of a high standard, yet Ellis and Ava were remarkable and deserved such a fantastic accolade.
Headteacher, Paul Stirling said, “a fantastic effort! Our young students prepared well, were totally confident and delivered powerful speeches” adding, “they continue the many success stories of Public Speaking at the college”.
