Annual Remembrance takes place at the College

Tuesday 11 November 2025

“When you go home, tell them of us and say, for your tomorrow, we gave our today.” John Maxwell Edmonds

For 364 days a year we all focus on our development, our enjoyment of life, our career, our time with loved ones. Everything that constitutes our life, our precious, complicated and rich life. It therefore must be right that one day a year we stop and reflect upon the millions of people who sacrificed their life in order that we may live free.

It was in this spirit of remembrance 2025 that the college community took part in several important events.

Firstly, Mr and Mrs Hicks travelled to London, to take part in the British Legions Service of Remembrance, held in the Albert Hall in the presence of the King and Queen.

Senior College ambassadors were present at Liverpool’s Cenotaph’s where they laid a wreath on behalf of the college community.

Whilst back in the college, a Service of Remembrance took place at 11.00 a.m.

Headteacher, Paul Stirling said, “we must never forget what these service man and woman did for us, some no older than students in our present Sixth Form and that is why we go to great lengths as a community to have this as a high profile and important part of our college year, we instil in our students the very best of British values.”

“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them”.
