Romeo and Juliet Performance and Workshop
Tuesday 6 May 2025
“O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?”
The English Department had the pleasure of hosting Box Clever Theatre on Tuesday 6th May, who performed Romeo and Juliet for our Year 8 cohort. It was an immersive production where students actively took part in the play, reading out key quotations and taking on the role of some of the main characters in the play. The company performed a modern adaptation using a mixture of Shakespeare quotations and modern language to ensure students were fully engaged and fully understood key scenes from the play. This was a fantastic opportunity for our students to see this famous Shakespearean play be performed, which they will be assessed on later in the academic year. Students were fully engaged and thoroughly enjoyed this action-packed, thought-provoking production.
