Careers – Students
As part of your careers journey at Archbishop Beck Catholic College, it is our purpose is to help you find yours. Finding your purpose, (means finding a career you are happy and fulfilled in) can and does take time. To assist you, each year has a focused theme.
Year 7 & 8 – Exposure – Is showing you a number of different types of job/careers in lessons.
Year 9 – Educate – Is teaching you how to use the National Careers Service website, access Labour Market information and how to set career GOALS.
Year 10 – Encounters – is visiting a university, understanding apprenticeships and taking each student on a workplace visit.
Year 11, 12 and 13 – Employability – Teaching you how to create a C.V, how to succeed at interview, and showing you how to apply for employment, training and university.

National Careers Service
Year 11, 12 and 13 Careers
When you reach Year 11 and sixth form, we will be focusing on your employability. Which means helping you to gain employment or, securing either a college or university place. For those not moving on to sixth form and who are looking for a college or apprenticeship please use the links below. Ensure you speak to Antony or a member of staff before submitting your apprenticeship/UCAS application. To search for the latest apprenticeships – Register for the site, complete your details and draft your answers.

This is a good resource for anyone thinking about university.
This website will be launched nationally in September 2014 and is primarily aimed at choices after GCSE. However, it contains a range of resources students will find useful when considering their options such as Careers quizzes.
