Oxplore Hackathon

Wedensday 17 April 2024

We recently entered three talented Year 7 students into the Oxplore Hackathon competition run every year by Oxford University.

Our students had to choose a world problem that they then tried to solve or “Hack”. Our students chose the title of “Global conflict and it’s impact on the environment” As I’m sure you’ll agree, it’s certainly an excellent topic choice and a problem that we need to consider every day of our lives at the moment, particularly with the current conflict in the Middle East.

The students attended a series of online meetings with mentors who are current undergraduates at Oxford University. This in itself served as an inspiring experience for our students who were able to gain an insight into life as an undergraduate at one of the country’s leading universities.

Well done to Freya, Holly and Harriet! We are very proud of you.
