Speaking from the Heart

Another public speaking success for Archbishop Beck The College was successful in the Catenians 6th Form public speaking competition. The college was represented by Lisa from Year 13 who gave an engaging and thought provoking presentation entitled “Worlds Apart”. Lisa spoke of her time growing up in Zimbabwe, discussing the poverty, affluence and intolerant society she saw and now living in the UK she has witness similar issues beleaguering our modern day society. Lisa encouraged the audience to keep asking why there are so many issues in society at the present and left the audience with the thought that they should not just “see with their eyes but see with their heart” to help create a just and equal society for all. Lisa was awarded the prestigious Catenian shield and will represent The Catenian Association, Province 4, at the National finals in Manchester in September.
