Running like the Wind – Well done Mrs Ronan
Sunday 15 March 2026
“Half marathons teach you that progress isn’t measured in miles but in moments you refused to stop.”
Many thanks to all the staff and students who donated to Woodlands Hospice in support of Mrs Ronan who completed the Liverpool Half Marathon on the 15th of March.
All the proceeds go directly to the charity who provide a broad range of services to the families and patients who use Woodlands. This year also marks the 30-year anniversary of Archbishop Beck donating to Woodlands Hospice. A big thanks to Sonia Knight from Woodlands Hospice who works closely with the college.
Mrs Ronan described the whole experience “as awe inspiring and was amazed at the wonderful support from people just watching the event”.
Woodlands Hospice
A registered charity, Woodlands Hospice provides hospice care for the people of North Liverpool, South Sefton and Kirkby in Knowsley.
The Woodlands Hospice Charitable Trust was originally set up as a direct response to the needs of local people living with cancer. The experiences of General Practitioners, Macmillan nurses and hospital staff identified the need for a facility for the care and support of those with life-threatening illnesses in North Liverpool.
The day hospice was opened in 1996, the out-patient unit in 2005, and a fifteen-bed in-patient unit in 2009.
In 2022 an additional new service was introduced called The Integrated Mersey Palliative Care Team (IMPaCT). This service was introduced to improve the referral process for palliative care within North Merseyside.
