Awards Evening 2012

A great variety of people and organisations were present in St George’s Hall Liverpool, to see the College recognise and applaud its young people for their outstanding Academic, Sporting and Cultural achievements.

Headteacher, Paul Dickinson also presented members of the College community with special long Service Awards.

The audience listened to Mr Dickinson’s heartfelt tribute paid to members of the College community who have given over a hundred years of service to the College. The warm atmosphere of the awards ceremony was aided by outstanding performances from the College Concert Band, Drama Department and College Dance Ensemble. A highlight of the Headteachers address was the news of the new school to be built for Archbishop Beck, hopefully moving in 2014.

Our guest speaker for the evening was Mr Alan Bell the Olympic Games Chief Starter, who spoke in glowing terms of the achievements of the College and its community and urged all to have the confidence to go out and build further on these successes. He also related a number of very humorous episodes that have happened to him in his role at a number of Olympics games.
