Careers Week – Robotics Challenge

A thoroughly enjoyable day, all the teams were tasked with building a robot capable of picking up a tennis ball, so that they could battle each other to try and collect more balls than the opposition. Some wonderful teamwork, and engineering skills were by the demonstrated by the students in the building of the robot, and some real resilience as the technology was a little temperamental at times. The ‘battles’ were arranged in 2 leagues with Archbishop Beck 2 winning the blue league to progress to the semi-final against Holy Lodge. A comprehensive 9-1 win saw Archbishop Beck into the final against St Mary’s Wallasey 3. Another 9-1 win saw Archbishop Beck take the prize and a trip to the Grand Final in a few weeks. Congratulations to all the students involved they were fantastic ambassadors for the college. Well done to the winning team Michael, Beth, Courtney, and Tom, good luck in the Grand Final.
