Dancer Steps Onto the World Stage

Congratulations to Megan, a year 13 student, who has qualified for the World Irish Dancing Championships being held from 14th – 21st April 2019 in North Carolina, USA.
Megan dances for The King Academy of Irish Dancing in St Helen’s and in preparation for competing in America attends four classes a week.
Megan started dancing at a local church hall at the age of three and joined The King Academy when she was just Eight years old.
Through Irish Dancing, she has been lucky enough to compete at major competitions in England, Ireland, Scotland and now America!
Megan said she is “immensely honoured to be taking part in this once in a life time event and certainly hopes the luck of the Irish will go with her.”
Paul Dickinson, Head teacher at the college said, “We know Megan will give her very best! The college community send their best wishes to Megan and her family as they undertake this wonderful experience and we look forward to speaking to Megan about her experiences when she returns.
