Andalucia Trip

This year s Modern Foreign Languages Department trip to Spain took place in April. 26 students from years 7, 8, 9 and 10 travelled to Andaluc a in Southern Spain to enjoy a few days immersed in Spanish culture and language. Whilst in Spain, our students visited the beautiful city of Granada and took in the spectacular view of the Alhambra palace from el Mirador, visited the teter as and the 16th century Cathedral. Our students spent a day in Malaga, where they spent time shopping, visiting the cathedral and eating in a Spanish restaurant. There was also a visit to Tivoli world where the students spent a fun filled day and a pleasant evening stroll to the beach, where we enjoyed a competitive game of football and ice cream. We also spent a day in Jerez de la Frontera with our partner school La Salle, where our students met their pen pals and exchanged gifts. We enjoyed a presentation from our host school and then a tour of the city centre alongside students from La Salle and a French school, many new friends were made and we look forward to the return visit. After our day at the school we ate in a typical Spanish tapas restaurant, the calamari was a particular favourite of our students! We stayed in the Hotel Bali, Benalm dena and the students thoroughly enjoyed the facilities available to them especially the varied selection of food, including tortilla, alb ndigas and fresh fish. The students were a credit to their families and the school with many students taking the opportunity to practise their language skills. Well done to all!
