Camino

Recently, Mr. Hicks, a member of the college community, was able to walk the Camino Portuguese to Santigo De Compostela.

He started his pilgrimage in the Portuguese area of Porto and transversed the Camino to Santigo de Compostela.

The Camino de Santiago (Way of St James) is a network of ancient trails across Western Europe leading to the city of Santiago de Compostela, the capital of the autonomous community of Galicia in northwestern Spain, and the final resting place of the body of St James the Great, a prominent disciple of Jesus Christ.

Thousands of people from all over the world travel the Way of St James every year. Mr Hicks met people from far away as Australia.

The pilgrimage’s connection to Christianity is profound. Pilgrims carry a scallop shell—symbolizing Saint James—to remind them of their faith and the transformative journey they are undertaking.

Mr Hicks, said, “it was a deeply moving, physically challenging but deeply rewarding experience. A Time for acts of devotion, prayer and reflection along the way”.

Prayer

In the tapestry of my pilgrimage, woven with sacred moments and profound encounters, I pause to offer my deepest gratitude. Dear Bestower of Blessings, open my eyes to the magnificence that envelops me, that I may Savor each divine thread with a heart overflowing in thankfulness. Amen.”
