Making an Amazing Impact

Friday 6 February 2026

On Friday 6th February thirty five of our students supported LSSP’s Inside Out Festival.

Our thirty five KS3–KS5 Sports Leaders and Mental Health Champions all played a crucial role in bringing the Inside Out Sports festival to life for the year 6 pupils (from twenty nine local primary schools). Their leadership, encouragement, and positive attitudes helped create a welcoming environment where KS2 children felt confident to get involved and try new activities. By modelling teamwork, resilience, and kindness, the older students helped ensure the event was not only enjoyable but truly inclusive. Their support made a noticeable impact, showing just how powerfully young leaders can influence and inspire others in their school community.

‘I wanted to take a moment to recognise the support of your sport leaders.

They were efficient, polite, cheerful, calm and an absolute pleasure to work alongside. Their teamwork and positive attitude made a real difference to the smooth running of the day.
I genuinely could not have asked for more helpful, considerate or enthusiastic young people. They made my role much easier and contributed to what was already a fantastic event.

Young people are often spoken about in negative terms, so I felt it was important — particularly as an external professional working with your school — to share how impressive these three students were. They represented your school exceptionally well, and you should be very proud of them.

Thank you again for hosting such a valuable event focused on children’s mental health.’
