In solemn commemoration
The college community commemorated Remembrance Day in a number of ways this year. At 11 am on Friday 10th November, the college campus fell silent as we held our own annual service of remembrance. This was led by Head Girl Daisy and Head Boy Daniel.
Deputy Head Boy Daniel and Deputy Head Girl, Madison were at the Cenotaph outside St Georges Hall in Liverpool, laying a wreath on behalf of our college community.
On Saturday evening 11th November Mr and Mrs Hicks represented the college at the Royal British Legion’s Annual Festival of Remembrance which took place at the Royal Albert Hall, London.
Headteacher, Paul Stirling said “Remembrance Day is a very special event in the college year. We will always remember those who gave their lives to defend the freedoms that support the British values of our society today”.
Prayer
God of love and justice, today we remember all men and women who died in defence of our country and its freedom.
Help us to honour their sacrifice through our prayers and actions for peace in our world.
Send your Spirit to help us to let go of misunderstandings, hatred and prejudice so that we may grow together as one family.
Guide our steps in the way of peace We ask this prayer through Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace.
Amen
