Parliament Trip

Friday 8 March 2024

The annual Sixth Form trip to Parliament took place this week. Students from a wide range of subject areas, including Business, History and Travel and Tourism made their way to Lime Street station for the 5.30am meet.

On the way to the Palace of Westminster the group paid a visit to Horseguards and then Downing Street. Parliament was incredibly busy with the Chancellor due to reveal his budget later that day.

The tour was as informative and interesting as always with students asking lots of questions and showing a genuine interest in the history, as well as the present day role of parliament in our everyday lives.

After a lunchtime visit to the Skygarden, students had some free time to explore and try some different activities. One group hired bikes and cycled the riverbanks and the famous bridges. Another group went on a stadium tour at Arsenal’s Emirates stadium. Shopping was also a popular option!

Later in the day the group reconvened for an evening meal together before heading back to Euston for the train journey home.

The students had a fantastic day and arrived back to Liverpool ready for a good night’s sleep.

The group were a credit to sixth form and a credit to the college.
