Archbishop Beck Catholic College – where Dreams come true!
“If you can dream it, you can do it”. Walt Disney
A dream comes true for our senior dance Ensemble.
The Archbishop Beck Catholic College Senior Dance Ensemble of 20 students is preparing for one of their biggest “dream” performances to date, after landing a prestigious slot at one of Europe’s biggest theme parks. Disneyland, Paris 5th July – 8th July 2013.
Director of Dance Ms Forster said, “When we heard that Disneyland wanted us to perform at their park our dream had come true, it was such a brilliant feeling and such an honour when you consider the 100’s of applications they receive each summer.” She added “The application process is very strict, the group had to submit a DVD of its dance routines and this impressed the judges enough to offer them a place”.
The group will be away for 4 days but will have as a special treat, a dinner at the Eiffel Tower, Paris.
Sixth Former Kelly said, “I feel so proud to be able to represent my College community and the City of Liverpool in this way.”
They have been in great demand with local primary schools, leading Dance workshops as part of the College’s primary schools liaison programme. On their return they will perform at the College’s Last Night of the Proms concert on July 11th.
Director of Dance, Ms Forster said,” I am so proud of our students who have worked extremely hard over the last 8 months in preparation for this performance, she added I just love the quote by Walt Disney when he said “I only hope that we don’t lose sight of one thing – that it was all started by a mouse.”
