There’s nothing like a Dame!

On Wednesday 13th September our new Head Boy, James and Head Girl, Anna represented the college community at the 150th Roscoe Lecture which was presented by the retiring Lord Lieutenant of Merseyside, Dame Lorna Muirhead. The title she chose: “A Tale of Two Lives – Midwife to Lord Lieutenant.”

Dame Lorna spoke for just over an hour and provided the packed Liverpool Philharmonic Hall with events that had shaped her life, proving that, in all aspects of who her life, she had shown great leadership, determination and the will to improve the role of woman in our society.

James said “we had been treated to something very special tonight, Dame Lorna was funny, engaging and quietly touching”

Anna added, “simply wonderful, what a Dame !”

Paul Dickinson, Headteacher of the college, said, “we give our students a wide range of cultural opportunities and the Roscoe Lectures series is one such way to broaden their thinking” he added, “best wishes to Anna and James as they commence their tenure as Head boy and Head girl of our college community.”
