Merseyside Young Medics
Congratulations to the following Year 9 students:
- Lewis
- Charlotte
- Rhys
- Joseph
- Isabelle
These students have been successful with their application and have been offered a place on the University of Liverpool’s prestigious ‘Merseyside Young Medics’ programme.
The Merseyside Young Medics (MYM) programme is a rolling five-year programme related to medicine and health-related activities. All of the above named students will take part in ‘Phase One’ of the Merseyside Young Medics programme which will run until the end of Year 11. Phase One is designed to give the students the knowledge, skills and experience to apply for a medical or health sciences degree. Progression onto the Year 12/13 programme will be based on their GCSE attainment and continued interest in medicine/health-related study, giving students even more motivation to strive for their best.
The students have now committed to participate in a minimum of three activities per year at the University, these activities are aimed at building knowledge and experience of the sector.
Mrs Welsh, co-ordinator of all University of Liverpool programmes said “This is a fantastic opportunity for our students and I’m really pleased that students took the time to apply for this programme. Successful completion of the programme could lead to an offer to study Medicine at this highly regarded University. I will keep everyone updated on the progress of these fantastic students over the next two and a half years.”
