Randox Health Grand National Tour

The year 7 and year 8 students were given a preview of the Randox Health Grand National Trophy in a special assembly on Wednesday 22nd March 2017.

Jessica Dalgliesh from the Jockey Club gave an interactive presentation which involved an insight to all the planning, preparation and work that goes into Aintree during the Grand National.

Megan Doherty from Randox Health gave an insight into the sponsors role and the designing and building of the Trophy.

Finally, Carrie Ford a former jockey, gave a truly inspirational talk about her experiences followed by a question and answer session from the audience. Carrie Ford is the third ever lady jockey to compete in the Grand National coming 5th in 2005.

There was also a special appearance from ‘Mable’ the pony who had a lasting impression on our students! Mable is owned by former student Drew Coogan who is a show jumper.

There is also the opportunity for our students to visit the racecourse next week for a tour of the fences. If you would like your son or daughter to be involved please ask them to see Mr McKean for a consent form.
