Introducing Our Senior College Ambassador Head Girl: Rachel Vincent

What Primary school did you attend? I attended Blessed Sacrament. How did you feel when you received the news that you were to be the new Head Girl? I felt very proud that the college community chose me for such a role and it was nice to know that my hard work and efforts at school were recognised. What qualities do you think you bring to the role? I am not afraid to speak up about things that students need. I am very friendly and approachable. I am also hard working and put all of my effort into everything I do. Most importantly I believe I have a good relationship with both students and teachers which enables the best communication possible when discussing student’s needs. In your opinion why is it important to have both a Head Boy and Head Girl? Head Boy and Head Girl are a way for students to voice their opinion and concerns. They also represent the college and set a great example to other students in the college. Students will feel more comfortable voicing concerns to a friend as opposed to a teacher. What have you enjoyed about your time in the college? Archbishop Beck Catholic College has provided me with the best friends, funniest memories and the skills I need to succeed. The support from the teachers has allowed my confidence to grow. My favourite thing about the college is the many opportunities given to allow you to develop, grow and mature. What would you say to other students thinking of joining our sixth form? I would highly encourage others to join the sixth form. The sense of community, extra-curricular activities, support from teachers, and our facilities are unmatched. What are you studying at A Level? Why did you choose the subjects? I am studying A Level chemistry, biology and maths. I am hoping to attend university to study medicine. These subjects allow me to expand my scientific knowledge and give me vital research skills. I hope to be a doctor of infectious diseases, so my choice in subjects was very important. What do you see as some of the major strengths of Archbishop Beck? I believe the major strengths of Archbishop Beck are the teachers and their dedication to giving us the best education possible. The staff have had a great impact on me and I would not be where I am today without them. What are you hoping to do in the future? I am hoping to be a doctor of infectious diseases.
