Joseph Roberts – This is Eurovision
Like all of the Liverpool community, many members of the college took part in various activities celebrating the fantastic event known as EUROVISION.
Congratulations to Joseph Roberts for his amazing poetry contribution.
As Joseph said, “I wrote this piece because I felt it was my duty, as a poet from Liverpool, to capture the city during this incredible celebration in just a few words. The poem shows our city in many shades of light throughout history, with Eurovision being a present spark of hope for the world. We have the honour in hosting a melting pot full of cultures, voices and granted the job of paying homage to Ukraine. I am proud of my voice, my city and my heritage. I believe Eurovision is a time for us as people to come together and recognise where we come from. This poem is a key and it’s time to unlock our voice boxes and be united by music.”
