Running like the Wind

“Cross Country: No half times, no time outs, no substitutions. It must be the only true sport.” Chuck Norris

The first Liverpool Schools’ Cross Country race took place on Wednesday 27th September at Calderstones Park. Our outstanding team of 6 students were excited about the event. On arrival at the park warm-ups were carried out and tactics of the race discussed. The girls’ race was first, a fast start led to the field being split up quite quickly, with Isabella Parry leading the front pack. She led from the front for the entire race and finished well ahead of the field in First Place. Congratulations Isabella. The other girls ran consistently and finished together in the middle of the pack. The boys’ race was next with both Samuel and Jack starting off well, they ran confidently and finished the race with good style and technique.

Well done to all the students who overcame the weather and ran to the best of their ability.
