Amazing learning experience for students

“Not all classrooms have four walls.” Margaret McMillan

On Friday 6th October, 40 students from Years 8 and 9 visited the Roman Baths in Bath as part of the Latin Excellence Programme. Students attended a lecture about the importance of Aquae Sulis and examined artefacts linked with the ritual of health and bathing in Roman times. They also had a language session where they had to translate Latin script on tombstones and altars.

After lunch the students had the opportunity to visit the original Roman baths and an audio guided tour around the museum.

All students had a wonderful day and can now take their experiences back to the classroom.
