Mental health and wellbeing

Tuesday 12 March 2024

We were delighted to have been able to invite Satveer Nijjar, one of the country’s leading specialists on Mental Health and Self Harm Awareness to the College. She delivered an interactive workshop to all our year groups. The sessions have been very powerful in channelling the support and addressing the challenges our young people face.

The Children’s Commissioner for England has previously stated that a shocking 1 in 6 children had a probable mental health condition.

Sadly, for many young people, self-harm has become a way to manage their distress, but it is an area that often carries a lot of fear and stigma, something here at the College we are trying to overcome.
