Operation Christmas Child 2024

Friday 15 November 2024

“Christmas is the spirit of giving without a thought of getting. It is happiness because we see joy in people.” Thomas S. Monson Spreading the joy of Christmas This year our students again gave generously to the annual ‘Operation Christmas Child’. Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse. It is a hands-on way for our students to help children in need across the world by filling shoeboxes with toys, personal care items, school supplies, and fun gifts. Miss Nevado worked with our students promoting and packaging the boxes and the Chaplaincy Team dropped the gifts off into Liverpool City Centre. The boxes will now make their way across the world to all those who are living in poverty or indeed in conflict this Christmas. We hope that this Christian gesture will help others to enjoy a safe and peaceful Christmas living out the true spirit of Christmas to love one another as brothers and sisters in Christ from all at Archbishop Beck Catholic College. Headteacher, Paul Stirling said, “we have a community that gives so much to many worthy charities and this is once again an expression of living out gospel values in our world of today. Well done everyone”. What is Operation Christmas Child? The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. Through this project, Samaritan’s Purse partners with the local church worldwide to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and make disciples of the nations.
