College Welcomes American Professor

Archbishop Beck Catholic College was delighted to welcome Professor Sim Flora to the College on Friday 24th January 2014. Professor Flora worked with our training band and Senior Wind Ensemble, which was an extremely worthwhile experience for all the college musicians and partner primary schools.

Speaking at the end of a very busy day Professor Flora said:

Wow! What a day it was!! Thank you SO MUCH for setting that up and letting me be a part of your terrific system at Archbishop Beck. (My Archbishop Beck pin is proudly displayed on my jacket and will stay there).

I’m very grateful for getting to know, even slightly, those terrific students of yours and for the opportunity to work with them. I trust we did some good, even though things moved along quickly. I can’t get over how cute the little one’s are in their uniforms, smiles and working to get sounds out of their instruments.

I love your philosophy that at University they want to know you’re capable, at Primary school they want to know you CARE! You’ve got that one nailed and you care about them very much.

I loved every moment of it.

Take care and let’s stay in touch.

Best to you
