Arguably the Best Debate Yet!

Building on our highly successful track record in debating, this week we were delighted to introduce a year 7 inter-form debating competition involving over 180 of our college students. The competition, an exciting addition to our debating programme, involved students grappling with a range of topics from piercings and tattoos in the workplace to the royal family. A team of year 8 debate mentors coached the teams in the lead up to the competition. Four students represented each form, pitting their wits against their peers in the event chaired by year 10 students, Hannah, Joseph and John-Joe. The performance of all speakers was outstanding; they were confident, consistent and articulate in presenting their motions. Awards were given for Best Speaker, Debating Champion and Runner Up. Congratulations to all of those students who participated.
