College Welcomes Outstanding Religious Educator
Sister Catherine concluded by reminding the college community of the recent words of Pope Francis:
“School is one of the educational environments where one grows by learning how to live, how to become grown-up, mature men and women. Following what St. Ignatius teaches us, the main element in school is learning to be magnanimous. This means having a big heart, having a greatness of soul. It means having grand ideals, the desire to achieve great things in response to what God asks of us and precisely because of this, showing respect and love for everyone. It means doing the little everyday things with a big heart that is open to God and to others.”
One member of staff commented that this was an “ideal way to start the new term and was just what I needed”
Paul Dickinson speaking after the day said, “we were delighted with the response by staff and the in depth approach taken by Sister Catherine to remind us that as the community of Archbishop Beck Catholic College we live and work by Gospel values and work hard to bring that message to the young people in our care. This was a fantastic way to start the new year.”
