Excellence in Performing Arts

The Edge Hill University Excellence in Performing Arts Awards were recently announced and amongst the winners of these prestigious awards was Archbishop Beck Catholic College former student Ellie.

Ellie was presented with a 2000 scholarship which will allow her to upgrade her instrument and become involved with after school teaching.

Headteacher Paul Dickinson, said: “We were delighted to hear of Ellie’s success and this award strongly reflects our commitment to the arts within our college. Ellie joined our instrumental programme as a member of our partner primary schools’ music outreach instrumental programme playing Clarinet. We recognise the vital importance of an education which combines the academic with the arts, truly “skills for life”.
