Outstanding Evening of Celebration

The College Music Department were delighted to join forces with the Salvation Army Corp, from Southport in helping celebrate two very important milestones in their history. The first was the 130th Anniversary of the establishment of the Salvation Army in Southport and the second was the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Salvation Army, by William Booth. The Salvation Army is one of British society’s iconic, much loved and highly respected Christian organisations. The hour and a half concert featured all of the: College ensembles, concert band, award winning Choir, Soloist and Saxophone ensemble. We were delighted that a number of members from the Southport Corp presented a couple of vocal items as well. Speaking after the event, Director of Music Bruce Hicks said, “An outstanding evening of entertainment, performed by outstanding students to a very appreciative audience in celebration of an amazing organsition.”?
