PlayStation Cup

It was the turn of the red half of Merseyside to support the ESFA PlayStation Schools Cup, as Liverpool star Nathaniel Clyne visited Archbishop Beck Catholic Sports College.

England s first-choice right back enjoyed a fun morning of activities as he interacted with the school s pupils in a Q&A session, supported the boys Under 15 team before their big match, and took on a pupil at FIFA 16 on the PlayStation 4.

The 24-year-old was a hugely popular figure as he posed for numerous photos and signed priceless autographs for over-the-moon pupils.

His time pre-match with the Under 15 team had a great impact, as they won a closely contested ESFA Under 15 PlayStation Schools Cup clash 3-1 against fellow Liverpool school St Francis Xavier s College. The away team had enjoyed their own sprinkling of Tie of the Round magic in February this year when Everton defender Leighton Baines paid them a visit.

Nathaniel was also the latest PlayStation Schools Cup ambassador to take on Sky Sports Game Changers new target goal challenge keep an eye out for it in the coming weeks!

Away from Nathaniel s exciting appearance, well-performing pupils were rewarded with a PlayStation Matchday Hub being set up in their Sports Hall with 16 PlayStation 4 consoles showcasing the latest titles. The ESFA also gave PE lessons a brand new look with two football coaches putting on some fun and challenging drills for pupils all the way from Year 7 to Year 11.

We would like to extend a huge thankyou to Archbishop Beck Catholic College for their fantastic hospitality and to Nathaniel Clyne for making it a day to remember!
