Basketball Students Shine

“Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.” – Tim Notke

Our Basketball students shine at world class event!

Talented members of the College’s Basketball Academy recently returned back to the college campus after attending the Euro Camp in Barrow. A vast array of world class talent provided the students with outstanding coaching opportunities.

As one student said, “we had the sporting elite as our mentors, coaches and motivators.”

The camp staff was led by the current GB Head Coach, 2 England International Head Coaches an 3 ex-England International players.

There were 168 campers from countries around the world, 3 ex-England International players; what a line up of coaching talent.

Congratulations to students Dante winning the prestigious Most Valuable Player.

Luke won the 1 on 1 award and several players won a ‘special player’ award voted by their team coaches they played for during the week.

Headteacher Paul Dickinson said, “we are immensely proud of the success, achievements and talents that the academy programme has achieved, under expert guidance it provides our young people with the greatest combination of sporting and academic life”.
