Outstanding Weekend for Beck

We are always proud of the achievements of our alumni but over the weekend they excelled themselves yet again. Saturday, 30th March saw both sporting and performance successes.

Deana Walmsley (left), with a truly incredible performance of Eva Cassidy’s Fallen Leaves, brought Tom Jones to tears and won through to the final of The Voice. Congratulations Deana and best wishes in the final from everyone at Archbishop Beck.

Later in the evening two former students were involved in the Boxing at the M&S Arena in Liverpool. Liam Smith (centre), one of the outstanding ‘Smiths Brothers’, topped the bill with an emphatic victory over Sam Eggington. In fairness, Liam was on a different level to Sam as he makes progress towards another world title.

The final bout of the night saw Thomas Hart (ight) on his professional debut at the Arena. Thomas won the bout on points and was clearly and rightly proud of his performance in interview on Sky Sports with Tony Bellew.

Congratulations to all three former students of Archbishop Beck Catholic College and best wishes for the next part of your journeys.
