Rhythm and Blues at the Cavern

The Archbishop Beck Rhythm and Blues Orchestra (ABRABO) were asked back to perform at ‘the most famous club in the world’ otherwise known as the Cavern Club in Liverpool on Wednesday 3rd July 2019.

Having previously become the first College to have performed at the ‘Live Lounge’ in September 2017, it was an honour to be requested to perform here again as it is a strictly invitational venue. The concert was a sell-out event and there was enormous pressure on the students to perform to a professional standard throughout the four hour programme.

The joy of working with professional sound engineers and technicians on the same stage that world famous musicians such as Paul McCartney, Joe Bonnamassa and Adele have recently graced was evident in all of the college musicians and it transpired to be an unforgettable experience for all of the players.

The Cavern was filled with current and past students, family supporters and staff who all danced and sang the night away, the atmosphere was electric and the passion, talent and commitment of the performers was evident by all in attendance! Consequently, ABRABO have been invited back to perform at the Cavern again in 2020 by Mr Jon Keats, the Director of Cavern Enterprises.

The evening was a perfect send off to Mr Wade who left the college this summer – we wish him all the best of luck with his future escapades and thank him for all the dedication and inspiration he has shown to our students!
