Primary School’s Band Master Class

On Saturday 25th January 2020, Archbishop Beck Catholic College hosted its annual Primary School’s Band Master Class. Musicians from both Blessed Sacrament Catholic and Longmoor Community Primary Schools took part in a morning of intensive sectional and full band rehearsals.

Guest clinician for the morning was WO1 Gavin Holden, Bandmaster of the Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment Band in Liverpool. After the event Gavin said, “I was extremely impressed with all the children, not only with their clear commitment and eagerness to learn but from their outstandingly good behaviour and manners right from the outset. The performance level of the band improved greatly throughout the morning from attention to dynamics, length of notes, articulation and working as an ensemble. Overall a great mornings work by all the children who gave their all in a fun and exciting atmosphere. Well done to all and good luck in all your musical adventures.”

Thank you also to Mr Bruce Hicks for his support during the morning.
