Geography Careers Week

Ordnance Survey talk

On the 11th December, as part of geography careers week, Christopher Robinson from Ordnance Survey Limited came to speak to our sixth form and year 11 students. The talk explained the history of the company, the work that they carry out and the surveying process, particularly surveying our new school building to update OS maps.

hristopher brought along the equipment they use to survey areas and the students were given the opportunity to see how this works. Additionally, we looked at different types and scales of maps to see the difference in detail.

Thank you to Christopher and Ordnance Survey for taking time out of your busy schedule to speak to our students about the opportunities geography can lead to in the future.
