Young musicians recognised!

Young instrumentalists from Archbishop Beck Catholic Sports College received special recognition at the Southport Music and Drama Festival in Southport.

The College’s award winning Woodwind Trio was honoured with first place by judges for their outstanding performance in the play off at the Gala Concert held on Saturday evening 17th October in the Southport Arts Centre in the presence of The Mayor of Sefton and distinguished guests which took place on Saturday evening the last day of the festival.

Added to this Radha who earlier in the week had won the u/16 Woodwind section was also invited to perform.

Director of Music Bruce Hicks, praised all the College’s outstanding musicians for their total commitment to achieving the very highest standard in performance over the last few years and highlighted the College’s outstanding and unstinting commitment which Inspires and enables talented young musicians to explore and develop their love of music. Each year, our young musicians achieve outstanding results in major music events and we are justly proud of them.”
