Cooking Up a Storm – Ready steady Cook!

If you want to become a great chef, you have to work with great chefs. And that’s exactly what I did.” Gordon Ramsay On Friday 11th February Chef James Holden visited the college to support our Year 11 students. The focus was to introduce the year 11’s to portioning a chicken and filleting a fish, plus making distinction level dishes and presenting the food to a high standard.

It was also good for the pupils to learn about the career of being a chef and working in the hospitality industry. James is back in on Friday to run a workshop on making fresh pasta, including Ravioli. The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Headteacher Paul Stirling said, “this is a wonderful initiative whereby our students are being taught vital life skills that will enhance their ability to be independent in the kitchen.”
