Neurodiversity Celebration Week

“Diversity is the one true thing we all have in common. Celebrate it every day.” Winston Churchill In the week beginning Monday 21st March, our College community will be supporting Neurodiversity Celebration Week. We will be supporting this via assemblies and discussions during morning Form Time. Neurodiversity Celebration Week is a worldwide initiative that challenges stereotypes and misconceptions about neurological differences(ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, Tourette’s, dyscalculia). It aims to transform how neurodivergent individuals are perceived and supported by providing schools, universities, and organisations with the opportunity to recognise the many talents and advantages of being neurodivergent whilst creating more inclusive environments that celebrate differences and empower every individual. Paul Stirling, Headteacher said, “our college family is made up of many parts and within our community students exhibit many talents. This special focus week allows us as a community to recognize and celebrate the many strengths and talents of neurodivergent individuals that may not be showcased in the traditional classroom environment”.
