Year 12 Work Experience
Sixth Form students at Archbishop Beck Catholic College are continuing to take advantage of a wide range of work experience opportunities.
Liverpool Women’s Work Experience
We have had six students complete a week’s work experience working at the Women’s Hospital in the city.
The students worked in a number of areas including Maternity, Neo-Natal and Gynaecology. The students had an amazing experience all students gained a first-hand insight into the specialist services that the Women’s Hospital provides for local people. All students involved plan to build a career working in the NHS moving forward.
Hill Dickinson’s Law Taster Day
A group of 22 students recently attended a Law Taster Experience at Hill Dickinson’s in the city centre. Hill Dickinson’s is a major international law firm with offices in Europe and Asia. Students had the chance to meet key staff and to find out about the different areas of commercial law that the business covers.
Students also discovered the various routes into the profession and had a fantastic networking opportunity to make contacts and ask important questions. A brilliant day was enjoyed by all. Archbishop Beck Catholic College is extremely grateful for the opportunity.
Liverpool Women’s Taster Experience
The Liverpool Women’s Hospital is a close partner of the college. Anne Bridson, Learning and Development Facilitator at the Trust, has kindly offered opportunities like the taster experience to the students at Archbishop Beck for many years now. Working with Anne and the Women’s Hospital is a highlight of our work inspiration programme.
Students had practical experiences with hospital professionals in areas such as Bio-Medical Sciences, Pharmacy, HR, Physiotherapy, Anti-Natal, Neo-Natal and Infection Control. We are very fortunate to have access to such a variety of opportunities in Health and Social Care and Medicine. The fifty students that attended had a truly unique and rewarding experience.
This coming week we are sending two large cohorts to Liverpool City Council in the Cunard Building, and to Vistry in Prescot.
The Cunard building visit is a business and finance taster experience. Here students will meet with Heads of the major business functions to learn about the roles, and the entry routes into such opportunities.
The Vistry visit will support students in their understanding of areas such as Construction, the Built Environment, Sustainability, Architecture and more.
