Introducing Our Senior College Ambassador Head Boy, Adam
What Primary School did you attend?
I attended St Cecilia’s Primary School.
How did you feel when you received the new that you were to be the new Head Boy?
When I received the news that I was to be the new Head Boy, I felt very proud. It meant the college community trusted me in a role of significant importance and that I had been recognised for my hard work at the college.
What qualities do you think you bring to this role?
I am a confident speaker and will raise new ideas which will hopefully help the students at the college. I believe that I have a good relationship with both teachers and students due to my approachable, friendly personality. This helps with communication when trying to get across students’ ideas and needs to improve the college experience for everyone.
In your opinion why do you think that it is important to have both a head boy and Head Boy?
I believe that it is important to have both a Head Boy and Head Girl as it bridges the gap between students and teachers. Students may feel more comfortable raising their new ideas or problems to another student rather than a teacher, and this way everyone’s voice can be heard. As well as this, having both a Head Boy and Head Girl means that there are more ways of thinking and more ideas to be shared.
What have you enjoyed about your time in the college?
The college has provided me with countless opportunities such as meeting new people, making new friends, travelling abroad, and gaining a better understanding of universities. These opportunities have helped me to grow and develop as a person to succeed not only in the college but also given me a better chance to succeed in my chosen professional career.
What would you say to other students thinking of joining our sixth form?
I would highly recommend joining our Sixth Form. There is a strong feeling of community, as well as an outstanding range of facilities. The college really does help people to reach their full potential. The Sixth Form team work extremely hard and give up lots of their time to ensure that students have the best outcome when leaving the college.
What are you studying at A level? Why did you choose the subject?
I am studying A-Level Maths and History as well as BTEC Business. I am hoping to pursue a career in business and finance and these subjects will help me gain a deeper understanding of this profession. These three subjects combined, help me feel comfortable dealing with numerical problems as well as being able to research certain topics to find answer to specific questions.
What do you see as some of the major strengths of Archbishop Beck?
The staff at Archbishop Beck are determined that students fulfil their potential. This is not just the teachers, but all members of staff that help to make sure each student has the best possible experience. As well as this, the wide range of facilities that the college has to offer, such as the sport facilities, art and fashion facilities and many more, help students to find their passion and possibly a future career.
What are you hoping to do in the future?
In the future I hope to pursue my goal of becoming a chartered accountant for one of the top accountancy firms in the UK.
