Honorary College patron celebrates her 90th birthday

The college community was delighted to welcome Mrs May Richardson, back to the campus on Thursday 9th February 2023.
This January, saw May celebrate her 90th birthday, and so a special presentation was made on behalf of the college community to her by Head Girl Esther and Head-Boy Adam.
Mrs Richardson was awarded the title of Honorary life patron in recognition of her many years of service to the college as a teacher, deputy head and long serving member of the governing board of Archbishop Beck Catholic College.
Headteacher, Paul Stirling, described May “as an inspirational person who over many years has supported and encouraged the development of our college community and all given in abundance. Her sense of civic and public service is an amazing example to us all. We send our prayerful congratulations on this wonderful birthday celebration”.
Footnote: John F. Kennedy’s inaugural address as President of the USA, inspired children and adults to see the importance of civic action and public service. His historic words, “Ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country,” challenged every person to contribute in some way to the public good.
