Aspiring, Nurturing and Developing Dreams

Student’s Visit Cambridge University

After an extremely early departure, our group of students from Years 8, 9 and 10 arrived ready for our taster day at Magdalene College Cambridge. The 40 students enjoyed an information session aimed at dispelling the myths that surround applications to Oxford and Cambridge. Our students soon realised that an application to a highly competitive university such as Cambridge was well within their reach and in fact it is something that they should aspire to. We then participated in a Question-and-Answer session with current undergraduates who were studying a wide variety of subjects such as Classics, Medicine, French & Russian, Archaeology, History and Law. We also enjoyed a fabulous lunch courtesy of our hosts at Magdalene College and tours of both Magdalene and Fitzwilliam Colleges. Students were given a wealth of information that should help them make informed decisions about their future and should help them to dream BIG!

Headteacher Paul Stirling said, “we are a community that always takes our students the extra mile, this is another example of wanting only the best for them, where we nurture future choices for the years ahead”.
