Annual Awards Evening

Archbishop Beck Catholic College students celebrate and share success at Annual Awards Evening.

Thursday 30th September saw the College community gather at the conference suite of Aintree Race course jam-packed with students, friends, family, local councillors and representatives from local businesses all with the same agenda – to celebrate student success.

The special guest for the evening was the Lord Mayor of Liverpool Councillor Hazel Williams The Lord Mayor was deeply impressed — impressed by the students and staff that she met and by the record of achievements, and by the ethos of the College as a focal point of the community.

“It is fantastic that our young people can have access to this wonderful school”

The College introduced a new award this year in memory of Mr Andy Traynor, a past Headteacher who sadly passed away in July 2009. This award was given to Helen Goldsmith, from Walton for her contribution to the Catholic Ethos of the College.

The Headteachers Outstanding Achievement Award went to Mark McDonald, in recognition of his commitment to his studies and the College. Mark was unable to be present on the evening due to his University studies in Glasgow, with the award been given to his younger sister.

Paul Dickinson, Headteacher said “The College is extremely proud of all its students. The evening was a great success and it was wonderful to have so many of our stakeholders present to share in our celebrations.” We are very proud that we are a high performing Academic College where outstanding achievement in all areas of College life is the norm”
